This is a twist container that we made this week at stamp club. It's super easy to make, and uses the VersaMark resist technique. Take a quarter-sheet (4-1/4"x5-1/2") of glossy card stock, stamp or wheel across the entire surface (I used the jumbo wheel Petals) using VersaMark ink. Next, ink up a brayer in classic ink (here Groovy Guava) and roll it across the card stock until it is completely covered. The VersaMark will resist the ink leaving those areas white. Quick and easy.

To make the twist container, roll the 5-1/2" side along the edge of a table to get the card stock to begin to curl slightly. Place a strip of Sticky Strip along one 5-1/2" edge (right-side) and attach it to the opposite side. Pinch the lower edges together, place a small piece of Sticky Strip on the very bottom and then roll it three turns into (and immediately back out of) a crimper. On the top, pinch together in the opposite direction of the bottom and punch two holes using a handheld rectangle punch about 1/8"-1/4" apart from each other. Tie a ribbon through (a faux bow works great here), and then make a tag and tie it through the knot of the bow.

These work great for candy, but would also work great for any type of small gift (jewely, etc.)

2011 Desktop Calendar

This month in my stamp club meetings, I had the gals make these desktop calendars. It was a big hit. The image to the left of the calendar can be changed according to the season (winter, spring, summer & fall) by removing the image and placing one of the other 3 onto the velcro dot (attached behind the image). The corresponding side of the velcro dot is placed on the back side of the images. I used the stamp set A Flower for all Seasons , #111592, $14.95. And, the extra images are stored inside in a small cellophane bag. The calendar base takes only 1 sheet of card stock to make, measuring 9" x 6-1/2". With simple scoring and folding, it goes together very quickly. Another demonstrator had shared the calendar file that is printed onto printer paper and cut to size.
