Ribbon Bookmarks

These bookmarks are projects made at my June stamp club.  The idea is not my own, but borrowed from Mandy Grant, a fellow demonstrator (www.L-inkedTogether.blogspot.com)  This bookmark uses Baja Breeze 1" double-stitched ribbon and the Flower Fusion Too accent & elements.  Both are retiring at the end of this month.  The stamp used is Say It With Scallops #111678 $17.95, the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set, also retiring at the end of this month. The image is stamped onto a 1-1/2"x1-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock in Chocolate Chip Classic ink.  The layered flowers are then attached with a silver brad to the center.  The words are covered up with the flowers, you only see the scallop border.  The backing is a 1-3/4"x1-3/4" piece of Chocolate Chip card stock.  To get the ribbon to feed through, you use the Horizontal Slot punch.  Punch once in the center of one edge, about 1/2" from the lower edge.  Then, punch again about 1/2 width of ...

Comfort Food Gift Notes & Box

I have been wanting to make a little gift note and box combo using the Comfort Food Level 1 hostess set from the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  After this month, it will be retired and no longer available.  So, here it is.  The box is made using 2 Scallop Envelop die cuts, adhered together with sticky strip on the sides and bottom.  The bottom flaps have been trimmed so they were only 1/2" deep.  The band around the box is from Candy Lane designer series paper, and the "for you" image (All Holiday's set) was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and punched using the small oval punch.  To finish it off, I tied a Riding Hood Red piece of taffeta ribbon around and tied it in a know on the front. Here are the 3x3 notes that I placed inside the box.  Each are colored using markers.  The donut has some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the frosting.  It makes a really cute gift.

Thank You "Clearly" Card

Here is a card that I made using the printed window sheets in the Occasions Mini Catalog (page 10).  I'm not too quick in doing anything with these window sheets, as I've had them on my stamping desk now for over a month! It was difficult to get a good picture, as the light just bounces off the window sheet.  But, this was a very easy card to put together.  The printed window sheets come 2 to a package and there are 4 images on each sheet that can be cut apart.  The perfect size for the front of a card.  Here I used Riding Hood Red textured card stock as the base of the card.  The window sheet is attached only by the Fire Circle Rhinestone brad that is the center of the flower (from the Pretties Kit).

Praying for You card

I finally had a chance to try a new technique!  Embossing onto Designer Series paper.  It's really quite simple and gives a nice effect. This card was made using Walk in the Park Designer Series paper (found in the Occasions Mini catalog) and the stamp set Thoughts & Prayers.  Stamp the image onto the Designer Series paper with Versamark and emboss using white embossing powder.  The card base Basic Gray card stock.  The ribbon is the Whisper White Organza ribbon.

Father's Day Cards

With Father's Day approaching, I wanted to share with you a couple of cards from the "Many Mower" stamp set found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.   The first one could be used as a birthday card, retirement card or a father's day card.  What great flexibility! I omitted the "now" phrase at the bottom of this stamp, stamped in Basic Black onto Confetti White card stock and colored in using stamp pads and a blender pen.  Then I stamped the "relax" stamp on a separate piece of card stock using Basic Black ink and colored it in the same way.  Both stamped images are layered onto Real Red card stock.  Then both are layered onto one piece of Old Olive card stock.  A piece of Real Red card stock is punched along the left-hand side with the spiral punch.  The finishing touch is 3 silver brads placed along the bottom of the Real Red layer.  All this is placed onto a Night of Navy card base. The second card is made using the same stamp set, but with the lawn ...
