#SU! Sweet Candy canes Catalog CASE

 

I've shared before that when I find myself struggling to come up with creative designs, my go-to is to look at either Stampin' Up! catalogs or by going to sketch or color challenges. Once again this week, that is exactly where I found myself, and so I turned to the July-December Mini catalog for inspiration.

The card in the middle of page 8 (found below) was what inspired me.

The designers of this card chose to use a smaller card size than the traditional 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". And, they used more of the Designer Series Paper and an additional stamp bundle. I wanted to re-create the card but in a simpler fashion.

To get a similar look by stamping the candy cane, I used the basic technique of Markering. Watch the short video I made showing how this card came together, as well as the simple way to get a multi-colored look using Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Write Markers.

#SU! Sending Smiles Abstract Watercoloring

A couple of weeks ago, I attending a virtual watercoloring session. It was refreshing to see old techniques brought to life again for me! The abstract watercoloring technique was one of these, and it inspired the card that follows.

Measurements:

• Very Vanilla Thick cardstock: 4-1/4" x 11", scored along the 11" side at 5-1/2"
• Very Vanilla cardstock: (could use more of the thick): 1/2" x 3"
• Polished Pink cardstock: 3-3/4" x 4-3/4"
• Mossy Meadow cardstock: 2-5/8" x 4-1/8"; 2" x 3-3/4"
• Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper: 2-1/2" x 4"
• Adhesive Sheets: 2" x 3-3/4"

#SU! Perched In A Tree Card

 When the new 2022 July-December Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! came out, I was instantly drawn to the Perched In A Tree bundle. I seem to be always drawn to the bird sets because my mom was so fond of birds. However, it was also because of the gorgeous die set that accompanies it. I can see so many uses for that aspen/birch die.

I participate in a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's team swaps each month, Kathy Howes of Be Creative with Kathy, and this was my swap back in June.

#SU! Simple Trees 4 Sale Card

When I first saw the new 2022 July-December Mini Catalog, I instantly was drawn to the Trees For Sale stamp set as well as the coordinating dies, Tree Lot Dies from the July-August Sale-a-Bration brochure. I've seen quite a few samples made that use a lot of the coordinating dies, but not so many using mostly the stamp set. 

The soft color palette of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen pair well with the softer red of Poppy Parade. A subtle background seemed appropriate, so adding the Whimsical Woodland 3D folder works well.

I thought a decorated tree on the inside also worked well. 

Here are the measurements for the card:

Basic White Thick: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" & scored @ 4-1/4" 

Basic White: 2-5/8" x 4" (2); 5/8" x 3-3/4"

Soft Succulent: 4" x 5-1/4"
