Stampin' Blends Fade Technique

Have you ever used Basic Black cardstock, really wanting to have a colored image stand out on top? You knew you could use colored embossing powders, but what if you really wanted to have multiple colors on the greeting or image?

Well, that's where I think this technique will come in very useful.

Measurements:

Basic White Thick cardstock: 4-1/4" x 11" & scored at 5-1/2"

Basic Gray cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"

Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper (or any DSP of your choice): 2 pieces that coordinate; 1- 3-3/4" x 2" and 1- 3-3/4" x 3"

Basic Black (scrap about 2-3/4" square)

Silver Foil Specialty Pack: lightest of the silver papers (scrap about 3" square)

White 3/8" Glittered Organdy ribbon: 10"

#April 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Birthday Card

I finally got around to opening my April 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit!

I know that I should have done so much sooner, but well...life's been hectic. I love these fun stamps, and I will play with the rest of the kit very soon.  Every month, the Paper Pumpkin kits are worth every penny. However, if you see this post before the day closes, and you've never subscribed before, you can nab an awesome deal. Get your May kit for only $5!

Yes, if you subscribe before end of day (and they haven't sold out of their pre-determined number of special priced kits) and you enter the code: HOMERUN0521, you will get the special! Please remember to choose Amy Taylor as your demonstrator! I send a handmade thank-you card each month that you are a subscriber, using the stamp set from the most recent kit.

The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kits are that everything you need comes in the kit. Your first kit even comes with a stamp block that you will continue to use each subsequent month. Not a lot to collect and if you desire to build a supply of Stampin' Spots and adorable and exclusive stamps, then that's all you'll have left over. Sweet indeed!

Fun, fun! Here are the card measurements:

Melon Mambo cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"; 3/4" x 3-3/8" (for the banner)

Granny Apple Green cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4"

Basic White cardstock: 3-3/4" x 5"; 4" x 5-1/4" (inside); scrap for the watermelons

Happy stamping!

Love that Happy Mail!

I'm sharing with you today a couple cards that I made recently for an in-the-mail-swap.  I absolutely love getting cards in the mail!  I'm going to guess that so do you.  At least a couple times a year, there is a group of demonstrator friends and I who swap ideas from a recent catalog release.  This time around it was making a card from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and one from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog.

These were the cards that I made and sent out:

I didn't think that I liked the Bird Banter stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  But, as is usually the case when I go to a Stampin' Up! event, I saw it demonstrated and knew that I wanted it!  Bird Banter is the stamp set used in the first card.  I colored the bird using Stampin' Blends.  Oh, how I love alcohol markers!

The second card uses Epic Celebrations, a Sale-a-bration exclusive stamp set.  I used the Brusho Crystal Colour to give the "splash" of color behind the guitar.  Just one of many uses for these watercolor powder crystals.

I hope I've inspired you to go and create something beautiful.

Happy stamping!
