Sweet Centers

This is card is made using the new Sweet Centers stamp set (#116521, $29.95, set of 6) from the Holiday Mini Catalog. This set is so awesome because it allows you to add dimensional items (candy, small gifts, etc.) to the center image using Sweet Treat Cups (sold separately, 12 to a package for $2.95, #116802). The background was made using the Batty Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel in Perfect Plum ink onto Perfect Plum card stock. I wanted more color to the stamped image, so I stamped it in VersaMark ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then, I used the poppin' pastels technique to add Stampin' Pastels to the image. It's then layered onto Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black card stock. This is a great technique and super easy! I'd be glad to share it with you and your friends at a stamping workshop. The "eek" image was punched out (it's the center of the bigger image) and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals to the lower right side of the bigger image afte...

2009 Holiday Mini Catalog

This weekend I had the opportunity to play around with new stamps! You'll notice these next two projects look somewhat familiar to previous posts because they use the same colors and layouts. Just goes to show that you CAN make different cards with limited resources! The card is a 3"x3" card and the stamp set is Cold & Cuddly from the new 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog. (You can order from it through January 4, 2010.) The seal's hat was cut out and "popped-up" using Stampin' Dimensionals. This card is one of my favorites. I love the color combination and these little penguins are simply adorable stacked like this. The same stamp set (Cold & Cuddly) was used here too. The card was super simple, but took a little time to line up each penguin with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Again, you'll note that this card is very similar to a previous post. This last project also uses the Cold & Cuddly stamp set. It also uses the snowflake image from the Chr...

More Stamp Club Projects

Here are projects we made at my Littleton stamp club this month. This first card is a 3"x3" card, perfect for a gift enclosure. The idea came directly from Stampin' Up! They give their demonstrators such wonderful ideas. The card base is More Mustard textured card stock. The accent colors are Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The circle stamp is from the stamp set Circle Circus. The image is stamped 4 times, one in each of the 4 colors mentioned above onto Whisper White card stock. The More Mustard image is punched out using the 1-3/4" circle punch. Then the Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip images are cut along different flowers and glued down onto the More Mustard image. This is all glued onto a 2" (the large size) Metal Edge tag. (This photo shows the image glued down onto a 2" circle of Brushed Silver card stock, and option if you don't have metal-edge tags. The Old Olive card stock strip was punched using the Scallop Edge...

Stamp Club Projects

I had a great time showing the following projects at my Thornton stamp club on Monday evening. This is a really simple birthday card that has a bit of a masculine look to it. I really like this color combination. I used it on a card that I posted earlier this month also. The stamps set used for all three projects if Circle Circus. The colors are Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Old Olive. The ribbon is the 1/2" Soft Suede Polka-Dot ribbon, but I turned it over because I thought it was a bit too busy with the polka-dots. This next card idea is one that I copied directly from Stampin' Up! They give such wonderful project ideas for demonstrators. The card base is Melon Mambo, and the other colors are Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Whisper White. The punched-out section on the lower right-hand side of the stamped image is done with the 1" Circle punch after it has been layered onto the Chocolate Chip card stock and then attached over the 5/8...

More Circle Circus

I've been playing around some more with the Circle Circus stamps set. I had a bunch of these images stamped and punched out, and wasn't quite sure what to do with them. Well, this is what I came up with. The card base is Rich Razzleberry, and the stamped images are stamped onto Whisper White card stock in both Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede Classic ink then punched out using the 1-3/4" circle punch. The smaller circles are Crushed Curry, punched out using the 1" circle punch, and Old Olive card stock, punched out using the 1-1/4" circle punch. The final touch was adding a Filigree Designer brad.

Simple Thank-You

Here is a very simple thank you card that I came up with. I always struggle when a card seems "too" simple, and that is what I'd call this one. The embossed flowers are created using the Big Shot and Stampin' Up! Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The beauty of these are that they do all the work for you! The card base is Mellow Moss and the accent colors are Perfect Plum and Very Vanilla. The thank-you image is from the stamp set Oval All and it's stamped using Always Artichoke Classic ink and accents added with the Pale Plum and Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Markers. The scallops at the top of the card were made with the Scallop Edge punch.

Circle Circus Thinking of You

It seems like forever since I've had a chance to play with my stamps. But, I finally got the chance and decided to try a collage kind-of look. I'm not real sure just what I think of it, but the color combination is growing on me. The base card is Soft Suede card stock. The stamping is done on Whisper White card stock using Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry Classic ink, and then layered onto Crushed Curry card stock. The ribbon is the new Soft Suede 1/2" Polka-Dot grosgrain ribbon that was turned over so the plain side showed. (The polka-dot side was just too busy with the collage of shapes.) To finish it off, I added a stamped saying "Thinking of You" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set that was punched out using the Modern Label punch and added 2 Vintage brads on each side.
