Dog Days of Winter?

I got brave a couple days ago, and played around with my Undefined stamp carving kit.  I had purchased it after Convention 2013, since I hadn't had a chance to make my own stamp while there.  Needless to say, the box has sat untouched since.  Well, then I attended Leadership 2014 and had a chance to make my own stamp while there.

This gave me courage to try and make the dog I had drawn after returning from Convention last year, but was a bit scared to try.  (Well, that and I had some leftover pieces of rubber to try on first.)  Here is my dog stamp.

And, albeit a simple card, here is my dog stamp on a card.  I also used the Just Sayin' stamp set with it's coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits.

Since it's snowing again here for round 2 of winter storms, I think I might just stay indoors and stamp some more.

It's Throw-back Thursday

It's Thursday, which means another throw-back, Stampin' Up! style.  I hope you've been enjoying these projects.  They sure have made me reflect on the past and then recreate using current products.

This week, I've chosen a card I made back in September 2008.

Since it isn't that far until Valentine's Day, I thought I'd recreate this layout using the stamp set Hearts a Flutter with their coordinating Framelits.

I used Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate for the colors (I used the Color Coach for the inspiration).  Also used were the Piercing Mat, Essential Paper-Piercing pack, and the Small Heart punch, with a little Silver Glimmer paper for some bling.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Playing with My Paper Pumpkin

I finally had a chance to play with My Paper Pumpkin.  This month's kit was 4 cards with envelopes and a special gift of In Color Boutique Details embellishments!  Here are 2 of the cards I made.  Since I needed birthday cards, I used the stamp set, Remembering Your Birthday instead of the love stamp that came with the kit.

Here I used half of one of the doilies that came in the kit, but made a different layout.  That's part of the beauty of these kits; you can customise them as much or as little as you want.  If you just want to follow their directions and make the kits the way that SU! designed, you can.  But, you don't have to!

If you sign-up to receive your own Paper Pumpkin kit before February 10th, you will receive a package of 2012-14 In Color Markers for free inside your Welcome kit!  It's a win, win!

Another Throw-back Thursday

It's Thursday, so that means another throw-back, Stampin' Up! style!

Here is a card I made back in 2006.  The image is from one of the hostess stamp sets at the time,  Baskets Full of Fun.

To re-make the layout, I chose a 2014 Sale-a-Bration stamp set, See Ya Later.  It's available starting this next Tuesday, January 28th!

I didn't have any Melon Mambo ribbon, so I made my own using a piece of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon, some Melon Mambo re-inker, rubbin alcohol, and an Aqua Painter.  It's a quick and easy way to color ribbon!

January Stamp Club Projects

This month for stamp club, we made Valentine's Day projects.  The first 2 were simple valentine's cards and all projects used the stamp set Language of Love out of the Occasions catalog.  I was fortunate enough to have received this stamp set at the SU! Leadership conference I attended this month.

This card was adapted from one by fellow SU! demonstrator, Gail Sachtleben.  It is stamped onto Crumb Cake card stock using Basic Black ink.  To "bling it up" just a little, I added a heart punched from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Small Heart punch and added a small Real Red heart punched out using the Owl Builder punch.

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and is a great all occasion greeting stamp set!

This card was an inspiration from Shelli Gardner, SU!'s CEO and co-founder.  She demonstrated it on main stage at Leadership.  The only change I made was using the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge to make the splatter's and using the masking technique (placing a sticky note punched out with the Full Heart punch over the stamped heart).

I couldn't resist making these adorable monster valentine's!  They are only available through Monday, January 27th unless supplies are depleted before then.  Sold in packages of 18 with everything you need except the candy (erasers or other items could be placed inside the arms as well), they are a great buy for $5.95 each, boy or girl monsters.  The boy monster is much like the girl, but I wanted to show their backside.  It's so cute!

Finally, we made these little valentine treats using the Angled Tag Topper punch.  See my previous post for details!

Thanks for stopping by!  Comments always appreciated.

January Class Projects

This month at my Stamping Escape Class, we made these 3 projects.  Everyone loved them, and were able to complete them with plenty of time to spare.

This card was like the one I took for my SU! Leadership swaps, except that there was paper piercing instead of sewing machine stitching.

Stamp Set:  Just Sayin'
Ink:  Real Red
Card Stock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Word Bubbles Framelits dies, 1/8" Real Red taffeta ribbon, Fresh Prints DSP stack, Stampin' Dimensionals, Banner punch* (available during Sale-a-Bration, January 28th-March 31st, for free w/$50 order), paper piercing tool, pierce mat

This cute little gift bag is made using the Sweetheart Treat bags that are available through January 27th or while supplies last!  They come flat, and we made them into little stand-up bags following instructions I learned this last year at Convention.  You score the sides & bottom of the bag, cut open the bottom, and fold attaching the bottom once again using washi tape.

Stamp Set:  Language of Love
Ink:  Real Red, Pool Party
Card Stock:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Sweetheart Treat bags, paper trimmer, Petite Pennants Builder punch, Small heart punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rhineston Basic Jewels, Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Paper Snips

Finally, we made these cute and simple treats using the new Angled Tag Topper punch.  A simple piece of 2"x5.5" card stock can be turned into these treats in no time at all!

Stamp Set:  Language of Love, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Real Red, Gold Encore
Card Stock:  Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories:  Angled Tag Topper punch, Full Heart punch, Paper Trimmer, Fresh Prints DSP stack, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Gold Baker's Twine, Mini Glue Dots

Throw-back Thursday, Stampin' Up! Style

The thought of doing a throw-back Thursday post came to me this last week while on my way home from the SU! Leadership conference in Houston.  Why not go back from projects made "way back" and re-make them using current products.  So, that is what today's post is about.  Please comment to let me know what you think!

Here is a project that I made at SU! Convention as a make & take in 2007.  I loved how the Designer Series Paper was cut to 4-1/4"x11" and folded in half and then folded again to make a pocket and then a piece of 4"x5-1/4" card stock was inserted inside to make an adorable card.

Here's my modern take on this card.  I used some sneak-peek Sale-a-Bration items to complete the card.  The first of which is the Designer Series Paper, it's called Sweet Sorbet.  I love this paper, so soft and pretty!  The second item coordinates with the Sweet Sorbet DSP, and it's the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack.  That's where the Crisp Canteloupe twine and the adhesive-backed cork flower come from.  The birthday greeting comes from Remembering Your Birthday from the annual catalog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Can't Wait for these!

One of the great announcements at Leadership 2014 was that Stampin' Up! is coming out with their own alcohol ink markers, called Blendabilities.  They will be offered in a small selection to start with, and will be availalbe sometime during the first quarter of 2014 and in the annual catalog when it comes out in June 2014.  I'm so excited to be able to get my own set in my favorite Stampin' Up! colors.

Home at last

I returned home today from Houston, Texas after attending the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference.  Wow!  What a great week it was with tips, tools, inspiration and fun.  I can't wait for Inspire, Create, Share (formerly known as Convention) when I can meet again with thousands of other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

You can join me too.  If you sign-up to become a demonstrator from now until the end of the registration period (if space permits) for Inspire, Create, Share you can come for FREE (no registration fee--a huge savings)!  Just one more perk to being a demonstrator.

Here is a photo of a few more of my new friends I met this week.  What fun to meet Shauna, Tammy, Leanne & Lori during our make & take session.  I only wish we would have met earlier in the week.

New Stamping Friends

Loving Leadership!  I've met so many wonderful people.  Here I am with one of my new friends, Cathy from Florida.
