Snow Buddies Card

I saw a card layout awhile back that I just knew would be great using the Level 2 hostess set from the Holiday Mini, Snow Buddies.

The snowmen were stamped using Jet-Black Staz-On ink, and then colored in using WaterWonder Crayons and the Aqua Painter. They were then punched out using the 1-1/4" square punch and layered onto a piece of Basic Black card stock punched out using the 1-3/8" square punch. Both were then layered onto a rectangle of textured Chocolate Chip card stock.

The flowered piece of Ruby Red card stock was made using the Petals-a-Plenty textured impressions folder in the Holiday Mini catalog, run through the Sizzix Big-Shot. All this was layered onto a piece of textured Certainly Celery card stock.

Other accessories used are the Eyelet Border punch, Sherbet Designer Buttons and Whisper White Taffeta ribbon.

Christmas with a Twist

It's been rather busy around my house the last couple of weeks, and I have not posted anything new! I have had a little time for stamping though, and this is one of the cards that I made.

The idea came from a fellow demonstrator, but she had used different stamps and a different embossing folder. When I saw the card layout, I knew it would look unique as a Christmas card. The embossing folder, Petals-A-Plenty, is from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I'll be sharing more samples in the coming days. It's a great tool to use with the Sizzix Big-Shot. The stamp sets I used are Snow Buddies (hostess level 2 from the Holiday Mini Catalog) and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Give Thanks

In getting a moment to do some stamping, I came up with this card that would be perfect for a Thanksgiving card.

The card base is Old Olive card stock. The jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel, Bright Blessings (115626 $8.50), was used to wheel across the center of the card stock using Old Olive Classic ink. I had also wheeled across a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the same wheel, only taking the time to ink up different sections of the wheel with the Many Marvelous Markers (More Mustard, Ruby Red, Really Rust, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie colors) before rolling it across the card stock. This piece I then punched using the Scallop Circle punch and attached to the Ruby Red scallop with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Ruby Red scallop behind it was made using the Scallop #2 die cut for the Sizzix Big Shot. The "In every thing give THANKS" tag was made from wheeling Old Olive ink across Very Vanilla card stock, and then punching it out with the Modern Label punch. This is attached with a piece of Linen Thread from a 1/16" hole punched on one end.

To finish off the card, use a piece of 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.

Build-A-Bear

The new Build-A-Bear line from Stampin' Up! is a great new line. In partnership with Build-A-Bear these new stamp sets and Sizzix die-cuts are wonderful. A great line to make birthday cards and projects with.

Here is a card made using the new Beary Best Friends stamp set. (This is another great project idea that Stampin' Up! gives to it's demonstrators to use in classes and workshops!) It's been colored using the water-coloring technique onto watercolor paper, Aqua Painters and Stampin' Up!'s Classic inks. The Designer paper is the new Pawsitively Prints.

This next card is made using the new Sizzix Bigz die, Stampin' Up! Bear, Stampin' Up! Beary Essentials and Stampin' Up! Beary Girl Sizzlits Die. So quick and easy. If you already own a Big Shot, you'll want this set of new Bigz dies. If you don't already own a Big Shot, you'll want to get one soon. Even if you don't have little children in your house, it makes you feel like a kid yourself as you play "dress-up" with this adorable bear!

New Blog Banner

You should notice that I have a new blog banner. I made it using the new My Digital Studio software that will be available for purchase starting October 1st!

This software is absolutely wonderful for putting together those scrapbook pages in a flash, not to mention tons of other projects that can be made using it. Here's one I did tonight with photos of my dogs from this past Christmas.

Sweet Centers

This is card is made using the new Sweet Centers stamp set (#116521, $29.95, set of 6) from the Holiday Mini Catalog. This set is so awesome because it allows you to add dimensional items (candy, small gifts, etc.) to the center image using Sweet Treat Cups (sold separately, 12 to a package for $2.95, #116802). The background was made using the Batty Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel in Perfect Plum ink onto Perfect Plum card stock.

I wanted more color to the stamped image, so I stamped it in VersaMark ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then, I used the poppin' pastels technique to add Stampin' Pastels to the image. It's then layered onto Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black card stock.

This is a great technique and super easy! I'd be glad to share it with you and your friends at a stamping workshop.

The "eek" image was punched out (it's the center of the bigger image) and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals to the lower right side of the bigger image after the Sweet Treats Cups was added. (They come with adhesive already attached, so it's easy to add.)

Here's another project that I made using the same stamp set and image. It's a treat bag holder. The background was made using the face image from Autumn Harvest stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink onto Rich Razzleberry card stock. The image from the Sweet Centers stamp set is stamped onto Whisper White card stock using Old Olive ink. A small cellophane bag is added to the inside and attached with a hole punch to the top and tied together with 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.

Totally cute!

2009 Holiday Mini Catalog

This weekend I had the opportunity to play around with new stamps! You'll notice these next two projects look somewhat familiar to previous posts because they use the same colors and layouts. Just goes to show that you CAN make different cards with limited resources!

The card is a 3"x3" card and the stamp set is Cold & Cuddly from the new 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog. (You can order from it through January 4, 2010.) The seal's hat was cut out and "popped-up" using Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card is one of my favorites. I love the color combination and these little penguins are simply adorable stacked like this. The same stamp set (Cold & Cuddly) was used here too. The card was super simple, but took a little time to line up each penguin with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Again, you'll note that this card is very similar to a previous post.

This last project also uses the Cold & Cuddly stamp set. It also uses the snowflake image from the Christmas Punch Level 2 hostess set which is designed to be punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch. The colors used are Night of Navy, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue. It's a small packet to hold a tea bag inside the small cellophane bag that's inside. The bear image was stamped first and then masked over before stamping the iceberg image.

A simple stamping technique that gives "wow" results. I'd be glad to show you how to do it!
