Tuxedo Big Shot Box

This cute little box is an idea I came up with one morning.  At the time, I didn't know that I would turn it into a box.  But, after seeing other Big Shot box ideas I decided to try it with the tuxedo.
The base is made from a Whisper White piece of card stock cut using the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up!   A second Top Note Die is cut from Basic Black and cut from the top center down about 1/3 of the way.  Fold these out for the lapels using a bone folder.  The "buttons" are 2 circles punched with a 1/4" circle punch.

To make the shirt "ruffles" use Whisper White card stock and the scallop edge punch.  Make 4 edges and 1 piece that you scallop along both sides.  The bow-tie is free-hand cut from Basic Black card stock.

In order to make this into a box, cut Basic Black card stock using the Bag w/Scallop Die for the Big Shot.  Cut off the scallop part of the box, and adhere the rest together using Sticky Strip.  Cut out one more Top Note Die from Basic Black card stock for the back and adhere to the box back.  Then, adhere the shirt front  to the front of the box using more Sticky Strip.

Voila!  A cute table favor for prom, wedding, etc.

The 3 "R"s Card

I had some time to do a little leisurely stamping, and this card is what I came up with.  It uses the stamp set "Many Mower" from the Occasions Mini catalog.  The image is stamped in Jet-Black Staz-On ink onto watercolor paper.  Then, it's colored in using the Aqua Painters and Classic Stampin' Pads (here Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Summer Sun).  It's layered onto a piece of Riding Hood Red card stock and adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The card base is Pacific Point card stock that has been run through the Sizzix Big-Shot with the Texture Plates Kit #4.  The strip of Basic Black card stock sets off the image for the finishing touch.

Par-Fect Day Card

We're making this card this month at my stamp club.  The idea came straight from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website.  They have such wonderful ideas!

The stamp set is Many Mower from the Occasions Mini catalog.  The image is stamped onto watercolor paper using Jet-Black Staz-On ink and watercolored in using Classic stamp pad colors.  It's all "popped-up" using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Designer Series paper is called Manchester.  The button is a Baja Breeze corduroy button (also from the Occasions Mini).  A real simple card!

Top-Note Die Cut Bunny Box Tutorial

This little box is very cute.  And, although Easter is just around the corner you can put one together very quickly!

Paper: Whisper White (6”x10-1/2” for box, 2- 4”x5” for die cut), Creamy Caramel (2- 1-1/4”x5-1/4”, 4”x5” for die cut), Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White (scraps)

Accessories: Paper Trimmer w/scoring blade, Big Shot machine, Top-Note Die, Birds & Blooms Die, 1” circle punch, 1/2” circle punch, Lg Oval punch, Sm Oval punch, Horizontal punch, 15” Whisper White 1/4” grosrain ribbon, Soft Subtles brads, Sticky Strip, Signo White Gel pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multi-Purpose glue, Crafter's Tool Kit (paper piercer).

Instructions: Take the 6”x10-1/2” piece of card stock and score along the10-1/2” side at 4-1/4” and 6-1/4”.

Turn to the 6" side and score at 1-1/2" and 4-1/2".
Cut along the last score lines up to the horizontal score line on one side. Turn and repeat on the opposite side.  Trim 2” from these cuts.

Fold along all score lines. Place Sticky Strip on flaps forming the box bottom.

Hold both remaining flaps together at the top, and punch in the center using the Horizontal punch.

Attach one Whisper White Top-Note Die to each side using just a little Sticky Strip. Follow by attaching 1/2” Creamy Caramel Top-Note Die to top of each side for the hat. Then attach a Creamy Caramel Strip for the hat brim.

Add the face pieces: eyes, nose, whiskers, ears, etc.  Finish by adding the flower elements and brad. Tie ribbon through the punched slots into a bow.

Easter Surprise Card

This card is one we made at stamp club recently.  The idea is really simple (thank you Stampin' Up! for a great idea!).  It starts with a 4-1/4"x5-1/2" piece of Kraft card stock.  The top is a piece of So Saffron card stock measuring 3"x 4-1/4".  I've run this one through the Sizzix Big-Shot machine using the SU! texture plates.  Add a piece of 5/8" Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon around the lower part of this piece and set aside.  The lower piece is a 3"x4-1/4" piece of Certainly Celery with one 4-1/4" edge punched using the scallop edge punch.  These 2 pieces are attached at the left hand edge (over-lap them by 1/2") with a Certainly Celery brad.

Stamp "Easter Wishes" (from the All Holidays stamp set) in Basic Black ink onto the Kraft card stock about mid-way on the right hand side.  Stamp the bunny image (from Eight Great Greetings seen in the Occasions mini catalog) using Jet-Black Staz-On ink onto a 1-3/8"x1-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock, then color it in with the Many Marvelous Markers.  Layer it onto a 1-5/8"x2-1/8" piece of Regal Rose card stock.  Attach to the Regal Rose ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Now, attach the Certainly Celery card stock piece (not the So Saffron, or it won't hinge open) to the Kraft.  Voila!

Congrats Pocket Card

Here's one of the cards we made at stamp club on Tuesday. It uses the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper pack (one of the Sale-A-Bration items available through this month), Polka Dot Punches and Congrats stamp sets (another couple Sale-A-Bration item) and a piece of Certainly Celery poly-twill ribbon (again a Sale-A-Bration item). Of course, it also uses the Scallop Circle punch and a Pewter Jumbo eyelet to finish it all off.

To make this card (or another one using Double-sided paper), cut your paper to 4" x 11". Score along the 11" side at 1-1/4" and 5-1/2". Punch the corners using a corner-rounder punch. Fold the paper in half and fold the 1-1/4 flap down. Wrap the ribbon around the entire piece (to keep the pocket closed) and adhere with adhesive. Stamp the scallop image onto Whisper White card stock and punch out using the Scallop Circle punch. Punch a scallop circle from Certainy Celery card stock too. Using a Crop-a-Dile tool, set the jumbo eyelet onto the Whisper White scallop. Off-set the placement of the two scallops using Stampin' Dimensionals, and then adhere the scallops over the ribbon with adhesive.

The insert piece is cut from So Saffron card stock cut to 3-3/4" x 5-1/4". Corner round the top edges. Stamp the flower image from Polka Dot Punches with So Saffron ink randomly on one side. Stamp Congratulations on the top in Basic Black ink and the "on the birth of your beautiful baby!" image just a little lower. That's it! This idea works great for many different cards.
