It's graduation time

It's graduation time around here.  Not for me, or anyone in my household, but plenty of those we know and love.  From my niece and cousin's daughter, to friends daughters, we have 5 graduation parties to attend this weekend.  All that said, I needed 5 graduation cards.  And, they couldn't be a plain old ordinary card now could they?  Well, they could have been, but what's the fun in that! First, I need to mention that I used contraband designer paper on these cards.  Gasp!  Also, I've used some retired colors to make the cards match as close as I could to the school colors.  I'm glad I had some of that lying around. I need to give credit here to Fran Sabad  for the design of this card.  It was her inspiration (and she's made a BUNCH of different themed cards using this idea) that caused me to bite the bullet and purchase the Pop 'n Cuts base die and the Dress Form Pop 'n Cuts insert .  Great news!  They'll be ha...

May Class Projects

The last couple weeks have been a bit crazy.  I'm not exactly sure why, since I don't have kids in school  and no graduates in the house either!  Needless to say, I haven't gotten much stamping done, let alone post anything here. Here are this month's projects that we made at my stamp classes and stamp club. These 2 cards are mostly the same, however I ran out of both the Natural 7/16" Trim ribbon (it will be carrying over to the new catalog!) and the Vintage Trinkets safety pins.  So, I made adjustments.  I really love this card.  It features the Faux Patina Technique.  I'll post the photo tutorial soon. It also uses the Countryside stamp set that will be gone after June 3rd. This simple card was featured in a recent issue of Stampin' Success (an exclusive magazine available to all SU! Demonstrators).  It's simple by punching out the images using square punches.  The punches are retiring though.  It features the stam...

Lovely as a Tree

I've been needing to get a card put together for a special occasion for the end year for the bible study I've been a part of.  I wanted something outdoorsy since the gal that will be receiving the card loves the outdoors and the mountains.  Lovely as a Tree seemed to be the perfect choice of stamps.  Here's what I came up with. I used MDS to type up the verse, and then opted to print it out at home on my printer onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I'm pleased with how it turned out.

May Flowers

Yesterday's snow didn't make it feel much like May, but I enjoyed making this adorable flower-pot card anyway.  Thanks to my friend Boni for the inspiration! I didn't have any large flower stamps that I thought worked well with this card, but I do have the Fun Flowers Bigz die for the Sizzix Big-Shot. Using some spring colors (the new Strawberry Slush In-Color is beautiful here) for the flowers and the returning Pear Pizzazz for the leaves did the trick.  I'm excited to see the Core'dinations card stock make it's way into the new catalog! The little tag is a sneak peek from the new catalog too.  Are you excited now?
