Catalog Transition Day.....and some inspiration!

Today is what Stampin' Up! is calling catalog transition day.  What does that mean for you?  Well, it means that you can order today from both the 2014-2015 AND the 2015-2016 Catalogs as well as the Occasions Catalog and order My Digital Studio downloads (still at 30% off) today, June 2nd!

I'll admit I've been a bit of a slacker when it comes to my stamping and I'm working to amend that.  Here are a couple of recent projects to inspire you.

This adorable gift bag was made using the beautiful Painted Blooms designer series paper.  It's from the Occasions Catalog, and soon to be gone for good.  The ribbon used on the handles is the Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, also on the retiring list.

It's made using the new Gift Bag Punch Board from the new 2015-2016 Catalog!  I found this punch board to be a little more tricky (you just have to go slow), but I love the results.  For this bag, I used a full 12" x 12" piece of designer series paper.  You are limited to the width of the bag, but the height can be as tall as your paper (you just have to use the Simply Scored tool or paper trimmer w/scoring blade to score beyond the punch boards dimensions).

I see lots of gift bags in my future!

This next project is one I made for my swap card at a demonstrator meeting I attended last night.  It uses the new stamp set, Sprinkles of Life, the latest Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  The new paper stack used, Cherry on Top designer series paper stack, is bright and cheery and goes so well with this stamp set.

April Stamping Escape Projects

Here are the projects from April's Stamping Escape Class.  For April, I focused on the beautiful Painted Petals stamp set.  It makes such simple work or beautiful artwork!

This first project was an almost complete CASE (copy and share everything) from Melissa Stout.  I changed the colors to be a bit more springlike, using Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi.  

The "Thanks" pops off the card because it is cut out using the Hello You Thinlits dies after the card front is stamped.  Another "thanks" is cut from a piece of coaster board and the stamped one is then glued onto the front of the coaster board one, and then attached back onto the front of the card.  Very simple, but very complicated looking!

This next card uses one of the outgoing In-Colors, Strawberry Slush.  I'm so going to miss this color! A simple background was made using designer series paper.  A tag was punched using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.  

The final card made, takes advantage of a textured background, made using the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Sizzix Big Shot.  The flowers and leaves are stamped off the corner of the card leaving plenty of room for the greeting.  Keeping it simple by adding a ribbon tied to one side in the same color as the flowers, makes for a simple yet elegant card.

It's been far too long since I've posted.  Truth be told, my stamp room has been neglected too.  However, here is a card I made awhile back.  It uses the stamp set Sheltering Tree.
