Just Another Scrappy Saturday

For today's scrappy Saturday post, I dug through my scrap pile and found some Halloween items. This is a super-simple card. The base is Basic Black, the layer on top of that is Pumpkin Pie. The designer series paper is actually printed from My Digital Studio onto Whisper White card stock, it's the Night & Day digital paper. That's one of the great things about the My Digital Studio, you don't have to own the actual paper, you can print what you want, when you want it!

The "boo" is from the Tiny Tags stamp set and the jack-o-lantern is from Jack of all Trades stamp set.

Don't fall out of your chairs

I'm posting two days in a row! I know, don't fall out of your chairs, okay? While planning my stamp club projects this past week, I had the basics of this center-step card done. It wasn't working for me, but I played a bit more with it this weekend. The little "ghost" is a case, sorry but I don't remember who I saw it from. It uses the owl punch body, turned upside down and trimming off the feet. I think it works for this card quite well.

Another Scrappy Saturday

Today's Scrappy Saturday project is another card. This one is rather simple. I had a piece of stamped card stock from when I was playing with the Bleach-Smooch technique. It's very similar to the previous post. The stamp set used is French Foilage (I love this set!). This one is on Crumb Cake card stock, and the ink colors are Pear Pizzaz and Chocolate Chip.

I simply took the piece that measured 5" x 3-3/4" and cut it into three 1-5/8" strips. Put a length of ribbon (Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding) around the top and attached a small tag made from the Tiny Tags stamp set and the Medium Jewelry tag punch.

September Stamp Club Projects

Last night I met with my stamp club gals. What fun we had, even though there were a number of gals who couldn't make it for varying reasons.

This first card we made uses a new-to-me technique called Bleach-Smooch. Fun, and stunning results too. The stamp sets used are French Foilage and Petite Pairs. The photo really doesn't do justice as you can't see the shimmer that is left on the bleached leaves.

This next card uses the center step technique. It looks difficult, but is quite simple. For this card, we used the Jack of All Trades and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. The hat and face on the pumpkin were heat embossed.

The final project we made is a cute little purse. This one is holding a packet of fun-size M & M's, but it would hold gift cards really well also. It takes only 1/4 of a sheet of Designer Series Paper to make and a few scores.

Scrappy Saturday

Today is the first post for "Scrappy Saturday". It's an idea I came up with this past week, where on Saturday I'd post a project that is made using up scraps that I have in my stamp room. I don't know about you, but I always have scraps of paper, stamped pieces that I didn't end up using in a project, and so forth.

Anyway, here is todays project:

The flowers are from the stamp set Fabulous Florets, #123023 [w], #123027 [c]. They came from me playing with a new technique floating re-inkers that uses water, re-inkers for the Classic Stampin' pads and Shimmer card stock. Anyway, I loved them but at the time couldn't decide how to use them. So, they ended up in my scrap bucket.

The Very Vanilla textured piece at the bottom was a portion of something I'd used, but didn't need the whole piece. It's done using the Sizzix Big-Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions folder. One of my very favorites!

The top piece of Designer Series paper is from the First Edition Specialty DSP, and I had a piece that was the perfect width to go with the lower textured piece.

August Stamp Club

This month for the projects that I planned for my stamp club gals, I used the Designer Series Paper (since it's the special going on for the month of August-buy 3, get 1 FREE).

This first card was a huge hit. The technique is called Double Embossing, and was featured in the Stampin' Up! demonstrator's magazine back in June. It's so cool, and very easy to do.

You need a die cutting machine (here, the Sizzix Big-Shot was used), a textured impressions folder (here the Vintage Wallpaper one), Versamark ink and embossing powder, a heat tool and designer series paper.

To make the flower, use the Daisies #2 die and Vintage brads.

Colors used are Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Basic Black

This next card is a case from another talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator but I can't remember their name. The layout is super simple, and easily adaptable to other papers.

This last project is a small gift bag, using a small lunch sack (purchased at most craft stores) and designer series paper to cover the front and the back.

August Technique Stamp Class

It's time again for another technique stamp class. Are you excited? Here's a little sneak peek of what we'll do.

This month we'll be using Textured Impressions folders and the Sizzix Big-Shot to make different background techniques.
