Paper Pumpkin Pre-Paid

You've probably heard about My Paper Pumpkin by now.  The monthly stamping subscription that comes directly to you in the mail?  It's alot like a magazine subscription in that you don't kno the content until it arrives, and because of that there is excitement each time you open it up!

You can still order My Paper Pumpkin as a month-to-month subscription.  However, Stampin' Up! started something fairly new.  You can now order pre-paid subscriptions online OR at a stamping party (or directly through me)!

If you are hosting a party, those attending can purchase My Paper Pumpkin subscriptions from your party, and you get credit for it!  I think the best thing about a pre-paid subscription is that it allows you to gift a subscription to someone else so they can have the fun and excitement of a suprise stamping project in the mail!

In any case, check it out.  And, as always if you have questions please contact me for answers.

June Class Projects

Finally getting around to posting the projects from this month's Stamping Escape class.  All the cards showcased a fancy fold technique.  All cards used the stamp set, Work of Art and the new Photopolymer stamp set, Endless Birthday Wishes.

This first card is much like the card I posted from my June stamp club projects.  The size of the flag image is the same as that card, but with a Real Red layer behind instead of the Night of Navy layer.  You will find the template showing the measurements of where to score and where to cut.  I simply took the focal image (flag here) and adjusted other templates that I've seen to make it work.  This card fits nicely into a 3-5/8"x6-1/2" envelope.  Finished size of the card is 3-1/2"x6".

This card uses the easel fold.  Start with a piece of card stock measuring 11"x4-1/4".  Score it at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".  I used a textured piece of card stock to act as the stop instead of a button or other more bulky accessory.  Those items work great if you are hand-delivering your card.  Not so much if you are wanting to mail the card.

This last card, I call a Z-fold card.  It's like a card within a card, really.  The ourter card is made from a piece of card stock measuring 8-1/4"x4-1/4", scored at 2-3/4".  The smaller card is made using a piece of card stock measuring 8"x3", folded in half at 4".

I love giving what look like complicated cards.  Especially when they are really easy to make!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Paper Pumpkin Thank-You cards

I sat down this afternoon to make thank-you notes for my June customer orders.  Every month, I send thank-you cards to my Paper Pumpkin subscribers too.  On my stamping table were some scraps from one of the pennants out of the June Paper Pumpkin kit that I had cut apart to make a bow for the wreath I made last week.

Inspiration hit me!  I love it when it does that!  So, here is the cute thank-you cards I came up with.

Hmmm.  I may be cutting up a lot more of those cute little pennants.  So many possibilities!

Thanks for stopping by.

June Stamp Club

June has been a crazy month so far and I'm a bit late in posting the projects from the June stamp club.      After a whirlwind trip to Minnesota for a graduation party, I'm finally sitting down and sharing them with you.  They all feature the stamp set, A Work of Art which has been VERY popular.  I love the versatility of it, and I believe I've only scratched the surface of all that can be done using it!

This first card makes a great patriotic card.  Simply made using a Whisper White card base with a few strips of card stock on the front; one in Real Red, Night of Navy and the new Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The star is punched from the new Itty Bitty Accents punch pack from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

For the second card, I cased the layout from another talented demonstrator but cannot remember who.  I wanted a more summery and beachy feel with the colors and used Sahara Sand, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry (stamped off once) and Pumpkin Pie (also stamped off once).  A simple wrap using the new Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine finishes the look.

The last card has a unique fold (some call it a z-fold).  I love how little card stock it takes to make and it give a nice "wow" when opened too!  Colors used are Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.  Add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and some accents of Moonlight designer series paper stack and you've got a great card.

Thanks for taking a look!

Patriotic Wreath

Well, as promised I finished the wreath I wanted to make using the July Paper Pumpkin kit.  Would you believe that I still have a "bunch" of pinwheels leftover to make other projects with?  I do!

A big thank-you to my friend, Kathy Howes for saving me by having an extra spool of the Burlap ribbon!

I love how the wreath turned out.  Almost everything I used came from the July Paper Pumpkin kit.  I cut the straws into 2-inch pieces and added a silver star punched from the Silver Glimmer Paper onto the ends.  Very festive if I do say so myself!

Intersted in My Paper Pumpkin?  Come to a FREE event at my home on Monday, June 30th @ 7PM.  Make a project, enjoy some snacks, ask questions.  If you are in the area, please plan to come!

Yippee! The latest My Paper Pumpkin arrived.

The July My Paper Pumpkin arrived in my mailbox yesterday.  I didn't have time to do anything but open the box since I needed to run off to my monthly stamp club.

It's a project making pinwheels with a patriotic theme.  I think mine will end up on a wreath.

Stay tuned for pictures in the next number if days.

If you'd like to see a video of the kit, Click here.

My Paper Pumpkin to the rescue!

I ran This Father's Day weekend, my husband and I met with both my sister's and their families along with

my Dad and his wife for our annual family camping trip.  We've done this trip now for a number of years, and it's often been over the Father's Day weekend.

When the May delivery of My Paper Pumpkin arrived, I knew it would work great to use as my Dad's Father's Day card.  Check!  However, I hadn't decided what to do for my husband's gift or card.

I ran out of time with the preparations of getting ready for camping and getting ready for my stamp club that meets the day I get back from camping!  Luckily for me, I had assembled parts of the May Paper Pumpkin kit.  With a few modifications, the addition of some handy retired gift card enclosures w/envelopes, I could put together a quick gift card holder for my husband and include the gift card that I ended up purchasing for his gift!  Voila!  My Paper Pumpkin to the rescue.

I'm sure it won't be the last time that I need to be rescued.

MOJO Monday #349

My "mojo" has been a bit lacking, and so I decided to kick it into gear by participating in a challenge.  I love the sketches on the MOJO Monday blog.  Here is this week's challenge:

And, here's my card.  I love the new Sea Street stamp set, and was thrilled when it was on the pre-order for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  Then, after it came I struggled to come up with ideas for it.  This challenge seemed the perfect opportunity to pull it out.

Other stamps and accessories used are A Dozen Thoughts, Maritime Designer Series Paper, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine.

I love how the colors in a Designer Series Paper can take the guesswork out of color design!

Another Sympathy

Sympathy cards are always the ones that I wish I didn't need to send.  This past week, I've needed to send out a few of them.

The new hostess stamp set, Bloom with Hope, was the set I chose to use.  I colored in the flowers using the new Blendabilities markers, using the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive colors.  A simple Crumb Cake card stock base, a doily and some Cherry Cobbler seam binding trim finished off the look.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but the "With Sympathy" greeting was given a little dimension by placing a Stampin' Dimensional in the center and then holding down the ends using the new Fast Fuse
Adhesive (I love this stuff!).

Other items used:
Sizzix Big Shot, Ovals Collection Framelits

Fabulous New In-Colors

Yesterday started the beginning of a new Stampin' Up! year with the launch of the 2014-2015 Catalog!  That also means the start of a new group of In-Colors that will be around through May of 2016.

Recently I saw a card on Ronda Wade's blog that I just loved but wanted to change it up with the new In-Colors.  Here's the card I came up with:

Stamp sets: Work of Art
Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist
Card Stock:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Blendabilities Flower

I love the new Blendabilities.  They are alcohol-based markers and brand new in the new catalog that is available tomorrow at noon.

You'll have to wait to order them just a little longer to order them, but it'll be worth the wait.

This card uses a new hostess stamp set, and it's so much fun to color.
