Card Case-ing

This week, I needed another sympathy card.  They are the one type of card that I don't really ever "want" to have on hand, but often need.  My friend Lori Schuch shared one on her blog recently that worked so well, that I cased it.  You can see her card here.

I used Midnight Muse card stock and ink as well as the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set to make the card.  I loved the simplicity of the card and will have to make more for other occasions with the same layout.  Thanks, Lori!

Sale-a-Bration is going on right now, Stampin' Up!'s best sale of the year.  But don't miss it.  It ends March 31st.

February Club & Class Projects

With Sale-a-Bration in full swing, this month's projects featured quite a few Sale-a-Bration products. They are all so spring-like too, so with the long cold days of winter it was a nice change in pace too!

This first project was inspired by one made by Tara Bazata.  To conserve on paper, I used a 6-inch by 6-inch piece of Designer Series paper so that I could get 4 from one sheet.  The finished size is 3-inches by 4-inches and would be perfect for a gift card holder too.  The Envelope Punch Board is used to make the envelope, but instead of sealing the envelope you leave it un-sealed and corner round all the corners.  Add a piece of card stock to the inside (measuring 3" x 4"), layer if you wish,
and make a belly band to close it up.

Here is the inside of the card.

The next card was inspired by my friend Shauna Mikuliak.  I wanted to make a card that was fairly simple, so there is little stamping involved and the Sweet Sorbet DSP from the Sale-a-Bration brochure takes center stage instead.  Everyone loved the unconventional use of the Scallop Tag Topper Punch!

Last, but certainly not least, we made this card that I completely cased from a Leadership 2014 swap made by Linda Madison.  It was so simple that I didn't feel it needed any changes.  So glad for fellow SU! demonstrators who share their creativity!

Don't miss out on your chance to get exclusive SU! Sale-a-Bration items.  Sale-a-Bration ends March 31st.

When you're in a pinch!

When you are in a pinch to get your Valentine's done, it's great to have My Digital Studio standing by to help.  That's where I was today.

My hubby and I don't do elaborate or expensive gifts for Valentine's day.  It's normally something small and almost always edible.  This past Sunday, while looking through the ads in the Sunday paper, I noticed these limited edition Oreo cookies: Lemon Twist!  It just so happens that my hubby loves lemon creme cookies and I'm thinking that he might really like these.

After purchasing the cookies (which took a little more time than I thought it would, since my local grocery store didn't have any) I needed to do a little something to make them "Valentine-sy".
A little wrap of some (now retired) Valentine's designer series paper, my Sizzix Big-Shot and the Hearts Collection framelits dies fit the bill perfectly.  But...I still needed something for the greeting.  That's where MDS came in.  I love that I can search for "Valentine" and find all the images within my program and choose from among them quickly.  This is a stamp brush from the Mailbox Love Notes download (it's actually part of a MDS class), and the hearts around it are from the Officially Awesome Valentines download.

The great part of My Digital Studio is that you can try it out absolutely FREE!  Yes, download a free 30-day trial here and get started today.  (The trial version just has less content with it than the paid version, but it will give you a chance to see what it's all about with no strings attached!)

Don't forget about Sale-a-Bration.  Check out the sale brochure here!
