Dad's Birthday

Here is the card I made for my Dad's birthday this year. He loves playing cards, and the "In the Cards" wheel was perfect to make his card. I inked up the wheel in Real Red Classic ink and then used a blender pen to remove the ink from the spades and the clubs. Then, using a Basic Black marker I added back color and then rolled the wheel onto a strip of Whisper White card stock. With a little layering and an embossed bithday message onto the Basic Black card it was complete.

Thanks for looking!

Celebrate You Card

Here is a simple birthday card that I made using the Party Hearty stamp set. I like the color combination of Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip. The Happy Birthday message at the bottom is from the On Your Birthday stamps set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Polka Dot Punched Box

I finally got a chance to play with the Box #2 Bigz XL die that goes with the Big Shot. Using Pink Pirouette Textured card stock, I stamped the heart image from the Polka Dot Punches set (a Sale-A-Bration stamp set) in Pink Pirouette ink onto the box. The lace trim is made using Whisper White card stock and the new Eyelet Border punch. A heart stamped onto Whisper White card stock and punched out using the new Full Heart punch and a little bit of Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon finish everything off.

Birthday Gift Bags

I've been away the last number of days helping out at my parents while my mom was in the hospital. So, needless to say I haven't gotten any stamping done. However, I do have a couple birthday projects to share that I did earlier.

This is a gift bag that we made at stamp club. It uses Inspired by Nature and On Your Birthday stamp sets. It's a smaller size gift bag that you can find at most craft stores. I found mine at the local JoAnn's store. The colors are monochormatic, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke. I think it makes a nice masculine bag. I made another one with some leftover packets.

For this bag, I changed a couple of the colors using Kraft and Rose Red card stock instead of the Mellow Moss. The stamp set Flight of the Butterfly seemed like the perfect choice for a more feminine gift bag. This gave me the opportunity to use my new punch, Eyelet Border. If you love the Scallop Edge punch, you'll love this one too!

"Yummy" Treats

We made these cute little nugget boxes at stamp club last night. The boxes are super easy to make with scraps of card stock. These used Certainly Celery for the box, with Tempting Turquoise and Confettie White for accents. The box bottom is cut from a 2-7/8"x4-3/8" piece of card stock, then scored at 3/4" along all sides. The box tip is cut from a 3"x5" piece of card stock, then scored along the 5" side at 3/4", 2-1/4", 3" & 4-1/2". Assemble using Snail adhesive. Address labels finish off the nuggets (the box will hold 3).

Valentine's Day Box

After what seems like forever, I had some stamping inspiration this evening. I borrowed the scallop envelop die that goes into my BigShot and had fun making this cute little candy box. I've seen other people make boxes, so this isn't exactly new, just new to me!

Here is the picture. I was surprised at how easy and quick it went together. I used Kraft card stock for the box. You need 4 scallop envelops to make the box. Fold the scallop flaps down, and the bottom flap up. Cut off on side flap for each envelop. Then, using Sticky Strip, line up the cut edge to one side flap and adhere. Continue this around until all sides are joined. Fold in the bottom flaps and adhere them shut with more Sticky Strip.

I found it helped to put 3" square of Kraft card stock in the bottom for stability. Then it was just decorating. I used a 1-1/2" strip of Candy Lane double-sided paper and 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and a few punches from the Heart to Heart punch.
